After starting the season off 2-0, the Chicago Bulls felt like they were getting ready for a special season. While a special season is still a long way to go, the Bulls still need a lot of improvement moving forward. The Bulls lost to the Pistons in overtime, a game where the Bulls looked out of sync since the opening tip.

“I was aiming at the wrong basket. I should’ve pump-faked. A young guy (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope) was sticking me too. I should’ve made smarter decisions.” – Derrick Rose

“It cost us the game, along with offensive rebounds. We’re making lazy passes, trying to catch passes with one hand, trying to thread the needle. It’s easily correctable. We have to make it happen. … We’ll be fine. We can’t be stuck on this one too long.” – Jimmy Butler

The Chicago Bulls have allowed 15.7 offensive rebounds per game in the first three games of the regular season, that’s fourth-worst in the NBA. While the offense takes the spotlight, the Bulls must focus on the little things that help decide the outcome of the game.

The Bulls are on the right path to success, but they’re still a work in progress. With the health of Derrick Rose still affecting his game, the Bulls need to stick to their game plan instead of getting carried away.

Fred Hoiberg missed Saturday’s practice to attend Flip Saunders’ funeral. Jim Boylen, associate head coach, took over practice.
