The Chicago Bulls showed up big time as they beat the San Antonio Spurs 92-89 at the United Center on national television. Both Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks sat out of the contest with injuries.
The much anticipated battle between Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler lived up to it’s hype. However, Leonard finished the game with the upper hand. The top two-way players in the NBA went head-to-head. Butler finished the game with 14 points, Leonard finished with 25 points of his own.
Joakim Noah came off the bench with eight points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Derrick Rose had a quiet night with 11 points and six assists. Pau Gasol finished the game with 18 points and 13 rebounds as he gave the Bulls a strong presence in the post.
The Bulls will face the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night.
