The Bulls rookie is already generating buzz before the first preseason game. A lot of eyes will be on the young rookie for a few reasons. One, fans would like to see how Fred Hoiberg deals with his rookies; hopefully a lot different than the way Tom Thibodeau dealt with them. Second, Portis was a walk-in lottery pick that just happened to fall into the Bulls’ lap.
Noah on Bobby Portis: “Great player. Very polished for his age. Well beyond his years. I think the sky’s the limit for him.”

Joakim Noah’s description of the sky being the limit for Bobby Portis says it best. Portis has the intensity of Kevin Garnett to go along with a sweet jump-shot. Fred Hoiberg said the rookie has an equal shot at cracking the rotation like any other veteran on the team. With an overloaded front-court, Portis has a shot of playing meaningful minutes.
