It looks like the Bulls have a good chance to cash in the Sacramento Kings draft pick from the Luol Deng trade in 2014. The Bulls traded Luol Deng for Andrew Bynum and a future protected draft pick owned by the Sacramento Kings. After waiving Bynum, the Kings pick was the only asset remaining to evaluate the trade.

So far, the trade between the Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls looked to have favored the Cavaliers, but the story is slowly shifting in the Bulls favor. Depending on how well the Kings perform this year, the Chicago Bulls could be sitting on draft day holding a lottery pick in their hands. The Bulls own the Kings draft pick of 2016, but it’s at top 10 protected pick. If the Kings play well enough, they could see themselves outside of the top 10. With the addition of Rajon Rondo and George Karl, the Kings are on the right path for success. With DeMarcus Cousins quickly becoming the best Center in the league, and Rudy Gay being as serviceable as ever, the Bulls have a real shot to finally cash in after trading away Luol Deng.

Sacramento Kings current record: 1-2

2016 Draft projections: 11th overall
