After the trade deadline clouds clear, the anticlimactic finish is over. The Bulls land Justin Holiday and Utah Jazz’s second-round pick in a three-way trade between the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz. Kirk Hinrich, long-time Bull, was shipped off for the second time in his career by Chicago.

Justin Holiday, brother of Jrue Holiday, has been a journeyman in his short professional career. After winning the 2015 championship with the Golden State Warriors, Holiday started the season in a Hawks jersey but remained nothing more than a bench warmer. Fred Hoiberg struggled to talk about Holiday’s game, but was able confirm he’s a good locker-room guy.

Holiday is known for his athletic body. He’s able to run up-and-down the court in a burst, which the Bulls could use in stints. His stats may not impress, but his worth ethic is why the Bulls pulled the trigger. Holiday is shooting 28% from behind the arc in his short career. He shot his highest three-point percentage last season with the Warriors at 32%. Averaging just 2.4 points per game in 10 minutes per game for the Hawks this season, it’s clear Holiday needed a new scenery.

Justin Holiday, 6’6 shooting guard, will play in small stints if Hoiberg decides to play him. Hoiberg will give Holiday a fair shake, which could ultimately lead to the benching of Tony Snell for good.
