The narrative on Derrick Rose going into the season was his lack of toughness he’s shown over the past few season as he’s dealt with injuries. Based on a lot of unfair criticism, Rose became into a back end of a lame joke that mocked his injuries. Being compared to glass or other things that break easily, Rose once again proved his disbelievers wrong by gutting out his eye injury and playing through it.

With just one 10 minute preseason game under his belt, Rose started the season off on a high note with 18 points and five assists in 32 minutes of action. As Rose struggled immensely from the field, he managed to get into a rhythm in the second half of the season opener.
