“Jimmy would come in my room at 5 a.m. He looked after me. That really helped my confidence.” – Doug McDermott on Jimmy Butler
Like every young player wanting to get better in the league, McDermott knew it was time for him to train with the big boys. McDermott spent part of his summer in San Diego with Jimmy Butler as they both trained with one another. Doug McDermott stayed in Jimmy Butler’s mansion in San Diego. McDermott had nothing but good things to say about his experience in California with Butler, but also went on record to say Butler was hands down the best player during training camp so far.
After training hard with one of the best defensive players in the league, Doug McDermott is excited about taking advantage of the opportunity that is put in place for him to start.
