With the Bulls new coaching staff in place, it seems players are more open to sharing their opinions on how they want to improve as a team. Joakim Noah had a down year last season after his knee surgery last summer. Noah was never able to get his legs under him throughout the season, but playing next to Pau Gasol made matters worse as their games clearly did not compliment one another’s style.
Noah also said the pairing with he and Pau Gasol deserves an honest evaluation because he’s healthy now as opposed to last season

Noah on playing with Gasol: “I think we should give it an honest evaluation when I’m healthy. Last year I wasn’t healthy.”

Noah says he feels “bouncier, lighter on my feet,” this year. Says he’s been doing a lot of yoga. — Nick Friedell (@NickFriedell) September 30, 2015
Sam Smith reported over the summer that Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol would not be starting together in Fred Hoiberg’s new system. However, with Noah feeling much healthier this year, he wants another chance to start next to Pau Gasol. Noah told the media he’s feeling bouncier and wants a fair evaluation when he’s healthy playing next to Gasol. As Fred Hoiberg is expected to make experimental moves for the starting lineup during the preseason, it’s safe to assume one of his safer experiments will be starting Noah and Gasol together once again.
