The first practice is in, which means first injury report is out as well. The Chicago Bulls had their first practice under Fred Hoiberg which consisted of a lot of scrimmaging as opposed to Tom Thibodeau’s drills.
Hoiberg says Rose took an elbow to the face in practice and is being checked out right now.

Taj Gibson was able to complete the entire practice after having ankle surgery this summer, which is good news for the Bulls. He should be ready to go when the season starts late October. However, bad news is the Bulls injury report started on the first day of practice as Derrick Rose took an elbow to the face. Fred Hoiberg canceled the second session of practice today because he extended the first session by a few hours. The Bulls are scheduled to run two-a-days until the preseason starts next week.
Hoiberg looked comfortable in his first post-practice interview session; first of many for the young coach.
