Derrick Rose has an important decision to make within the upcoming days. This is the first summer in three years that Rose will not be coming off a rehabilitating knee. Last summer, Derrick Rose participated in the Team USA mini camp in Las Vegas where he showed off his athleticism coming off his meniscus injury.
It’s reported that Rose is undecided on joining Team USA mini camp in Las Vergas this summer. The mini camp will consist of two noncontact workouts and a scrimmage game which will be held on August 13th. Derrick Rose could opt out on the mini camp because he wants to rest his body.
Jerry Colangelo has repeatedly mentioned that the mini camp this summer is mandatory for those players who wish to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janerio. Rose missed out in the 2012 Olympics due to his knee recovery and has said in the past he wants to participate in the 2016 Olympics.
Jimmy Butler has been invited to join Team USA mini camp in Las Vegas. Lebron James has confirmed to join the mini camp in Las Vegas. Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook are expected to join as well.
If Rose chooses to continue with Team USA, he will be reunited with his former coach Tom Thibodeu.
