The Boston Celtics are looking to land an Allstar big man before the trade deadline. Al Horford is on top of the Celtics’ list, but Pau Gasol would be their contingency plan. The Bulls are holding talks with the Boston Celtics and another NBA team as a part of a three-way deal to ship Gasol out of Chicago in return for draft picks.
“According to an NBA source, the two-headed snake of general manager Gar Forman and VP of basketball operations John Paxson continued trying to figure out ways to immediately fix the roster, and were even in what was described as ‘interesting talks’ with the Boston Celtics, as well as a mystery team, in a three-way deal that would have sent out Pau Gasol, bringing back picks and a rotation big man for the Bulls.” – Joe Cowley from Chicago Sun-Times
The Bulls reportedly are seeking a first-round pick in return in any trade that involves Gasol. The 7’0 Spaniard plans to opt-out of his contract in the summer to become a free agent. The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the Bulls are aggressively shopping Gasol.
