The tables have turned for the Bulls front office. Just a few weeks ago there was a struggle to find Bobby Portis a few minutes to play in an overloaded front-court, now the Bulls are riddled with injuries which might cause them to stand silent before the trade deadline once again.

The most recent news of Nikola Mirotic’s acute appendicitis could change the Bulls plans moving forward. Pau Gasol has openly admitted to opting out of his contract this summer to put himself in the best position to win a championship. Early indications are he does not want to return to Chicago.
It’s uncharacteristic of Gar Forman to make a mid-season trade according to his history as the general manger of the Chicago Bulls. If Pau Gasol makes it clear to him once more that he does not want to return, Forman can look into trading him once again. As of now, it seems the Bulls are doing all they can to keep Gasol in Chicago.
