Just a few months ago, Lebron James took away any hope of a deep playoff run as he drilled a corner three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the series 2-2 with the Chicago Bulls. Nearly five months later, Bulls fans still can’t seem to shake that bitter taste out of their mouth. From a series that could have been 3-1 in Chicago’s favor, it turned into a miserable 2-2 with momentum going in the way of the Cavaliers.
Getting over the hump of the Cavaliers won’t be any easier than last season. With Kevin Love out and Kyrie Irving riddled with injuries, the Bulls had their best chance to strike but failed to finish the job.
In a new season with a new coach and a new era, the Bulls look to change their mindset against the Cavaliers. Home-court advantage could be the tipping point for the Bulls in the series. However, the difference will be made in the post-season with Fred Hoiberg. With zero experience as an NBA head coach, Hoiberg looks to start his career off by helping some players feel redemption in his first regular season game.
Opening night is just one of 82 games, one of four games against the Cavaliers, or just one game at a time. It all depends on how you look at it. Either way, taking down the self-named King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will be a great way to start the season off.
